The Fabric Pantry is a 100% student-led non-profit organisation dedicated to providing fabric and sewing notions to students at Kent State University at no cost. We are funded by donations. I joined the executive board in September 2024, serving as the Chair of our sister location in Prentice Hall, later serving as Secretary beginning in January 2025. During this time, I learned the importance of teamwork and serving your community, and I learned the fundamentals of planning and budgeting events, including our (always free) bi-annual fashion shows. I am proud to announce that I will be President of this wonderful organistion for the 2025-2026 year!
Each spring, we take a sourcing trip to collect high quality second-hand material for our members. We visited Fab Scrap in Brooklyn for our 2025 trip, where we collected over $300 worth of designer fabric and notions for our members (and some for ourselves as well).

We hold bi-annual shows---one during each semester. Admission is always free, and the only requirement to enter as a designer is to use Pantry material. Our shows have boasted upwards of 100 designers and 600 audience members! In spring 2025, we livestreamed our "Art History: Media, Mediums, Movements" show and it was viewed in over ten countries!
We also have merch! All of our clothing is second-hand and donated to us by Branded in Kent. We hold $5 merch workshops for our members where they can pick out a shirt and decorate it with donated materials.
